Mr. Williams graduated with magna cum laude honors from the University of Utah while simultaneously playing college football for the Utes. He also received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Georgia School of Law.
Mr. Williams has handled hundreds of criminal matters in both the private and public sectors. As a private defense attorney for approximately seven years, from December of 2012 until December of 2019, Mr. Williams counseled clients in San Bernardino County, Riverside County, Los Angeles County, Ventura County and San Diego County. His vast and diverse experiences have provided him with key insights about the judicial systems, prosecutors, judges, and jurors in several Southern California counties that have highly benefited his clients. During that time span, Mr. Williams also successfully represented nine criminal defendants in jury trials that resulted in acquittals in several of those trials. Those trials involved DUI, Domestic Violence, Vandalism, Robbery, and Attempted Murder charges.
In 2019, Mr. Williams accepted an offer to work for the Kern County Public Defender’s Office in Bakersfield, California as a Level Four Felony Trial Attorney. From December of 2019 until April of 2022, Mr. Williams successfully represented seven criminal defendants in felony jury trials involving charges such as attempted murder, assault with a firearm, robbery, burglary, arson, carjacking, kidnapping, dissuading a witness, assault with a deadly weapon, taking a vehicle without consent, and receiving stolen property. Mr. Williams earned acquittals and hung juries in multiple trials. Due to his excellent negotiation skills and thorough investigations, Mr. Williams was also able to obtain numerous case dismissals. He also helped nineteen of his clients who were initially charged with felonies and serious strike offenses obtain misdemeanor plea bargain settlements which involved absolutely no felony convictions. Additionally, Mr. Williams earned two consecutive Outstanding ratings by his superiors on his Annual Employee Performance Reports for the years of 2020 and 2021.
Mr. Williams has recently returned to the private practice of criminal defense in April of 2022. He is a true servant of Jesus Christ who strives to handle each and every case that is presented to him with honesty, integrity, and diligence.
