Daniel Wannamaker is a board certified specialist in both criminal law and criminal appellate law with over 34 years of experience. During those 34 years, he has won numerous trials and appeals in both federal and state court. He is only one of a handful of attorneys to be certified as a specialist in criminal law and criminal appellate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and also a member of the prestigious College of the State Bar.
Mr. Wannamaker’s experience spans the breadth of criminal representation. His practice includes state misdemeanor charges of possession of drugs, dwi, assault and theft. His practice also includes state felony charges of distribution of drugs, assault, and fraud.
Mr. Wannamaker has vast experience in federal court. He worked exclusively in federal court as a federal defender for 10 years. His practice has included conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, RICO, fraud and white collar offenses, money laundering, asset forfeiture and weapons charges. Many of these cases are high profile and complex cases.
As a criminal appeals specialist, Mr. Wannamaker has appealed cases to the state courts of appeals, federal courts of appeals and the United States Supreme Court. In many of these cases, oral argument was granted and resulted in published opinions.
Daniel H. Wannamaker has represented a number of people charged in high profile and highly publicized cases, including James Feigen, the Olympic swimmer accused of a crime during the summer Olympics in Brazil and Rasul Scott, charged in a RICO conspiracy to murder of a state district court judge. Mr Wannamaker has represented clients involving the Texas Syndicate as well as the notorious ZETA drug cartel. He has successfully won numerous not guilty verdicts and acquittals for his clients in both state and federal court.
Daniel Wannamaker has also obtained a rare Presidential Pardon from President Obama for a client who was formerly with the U S State Department.
