Charles Hear excelled in school and graduated early from Ball State University. After Ball State University he went to Indiana University of School of Law in Indianapolis from 1989-1992. He is a peoples lawyer in part due to his non-lawyer background. He held many “real” jobs before becoming an Attorney. He has worked in factories, insurance firms, and warehouses. He spent the first 10yrs of his legal practice in Indy. He then moved to Brazil in 1998 when he became engaged to his wife. He has accumulated over 20yrs of his law practice in Brazil and 13 of those years as a public defender and in that time he won more than half of his jury trials. His clients gave him the motto “Fighting for you!”
Charles has also been a big advocate of education.
While in law school he taught disabled students for 2 years.
Taught paralegals for 2.5 years at Ivy Tech.
Taught 10 years of adult continuing education.
Worked for 13 different regulatory boards and commissions and with the General Assembly writing laws for 4 years.
